“When I got the audition, I Googled the show, as you do, and there was an article on it which went through the whole concept. I thought it was a really interesting idea - something new and different. That’s what made the whole package very attractive.
“Because we started off in Cornwall, we got to know each other really well, mainly because we were just thrown into this situation where we all worked and lived together. When we first arrived it rained so much they had to cancel shooting - and the weather just went down hill from there really. We managed to get the shot in the end but we were all standing around in our summer clothes and there would be a gale force wind blowing on the beach. Obviously on film it looks like summer but if you could see the rest of the crew they were all dressed head to toe in big Arctic expedition outfits.
“My favourite scene was the one where I shove ice cream in Jonathan Readwin’s face. Instead of just shoving straight in, I spread the ice-cream all around. So he ended up with chocolate chips and melted cream just dripping everywhere.”
