Jayne Bickerton (Yana Lumb, Coronation Street)

Jayne Bickerton has been entertaining Coronation Street viewers with her portrayal of Cilla's best friend Yana Lumb since 2004.

As well as being an actress, comedienne and writer, Jayne is also an artist. She was inspired by Coronation Street and its larger than life characters to create some original and entertaining artwork.

Jayne's "Corriecatures" feature Street legends such as Bet Gilroy, Hilda Ogden (below), Jack and Vera, Annie Walker and current characters like Hayley, Roy and Steve.

The paintings remind us of classic one-liners and scenes from the show's history. The idea for using Coronation Street as subject matter for her art came from Jayne's husband, a former Corrie story editor whom she met on the set!

In her interview with Ian, Jayne talks about how the paintings came about and gives her thoughts on her favourite Coronation Street characters and storylines. She also chats about her recent art exhibition in Manchester, which of her felllow cast members attended and what the stars think of Jayne's paintings of their characters.

The paintings are also available as prints and greetings cards.
