You've been based in Birmingham for quite a while now. Are there any particular sights or places you would recommend to visitors to the city?
There aren't as I don't actually get out that much! Works busy and I like down time at home.
How long does it take to film an episode of Doctors and do you film one "story of the day" at a time?
It takes about a week. We film three blocks, which is nine scripts at a time.
If you were throwing a dinner party in real life which of the fictional Doctors (past or present) would you like to invite?
I think it would have to be Mac, because when Jimmi first joined the practice he was - from a distance - a father figure to him.
Do you have a favourite Jimmi storyline? And a least favourite one?
No I actually don't. I love them all!

No I actually don't. I love them all!
Who's been your favourite guest star to work with on Doctors?
It's difficult to pick one as we're lucky enough to have a lot of seasoned artists coming through and filming with us. Brian Blessed was brilliant fun though.
Does anyone ever ask you for medical advice or expect you to know about illnesses and medicine?!
All the time - especially in the supermarket! I try not to go to the supermarket on a Friday now, as for some reason it's always more on a Friday!
What are the main differences between filming Holby City and Doctors?
They're pretty similar but I think Doctors shoots faster.
Would you like to do more musical theatre?
If the show was right yes, but it's hard to find good, strong, new shows that have a run in them. I miss the singing mostly.
Do the actors on Doctors get any input into how their characters develop?
Every time we say a line
On that note, if you could write a storyline for Jimmi what would it involve?
Lots of chocolate buttons!
Doctors weekdays at 1.45pm on BBC1 |
